We Only Want the Earth is a 12-month programme of awards, exhibitions, and events that seeks to interrogate the goals and strategies of social change: what kind of society do we want and how should we get there?
The award is in partnership with Fire Station Artists’ Studios and Community Action Tenants Union (CATU) Mountjoy-Dorset St and Phibsborough-Glasnevin and is open to artists who are experiencing or have experienced homelessness; this could be any form of homelessness including living in emergency accommodation, living in hostels, sleeping rough, as well as sofa-surfing.
The award provides material support (€4,290.00) to the successful applicant in the form of a monthly stipend, and artist fees, an additional budget (up to €1,000) towards their exhibition costs, as well as in kind support such as mentoring, technical support and access to facilities.
The closing date for applications is Monday 1st March at 5pm.
