The Pitch -2022

We are delighted to announce the launch of The Pitch - The Publicjobs.ie Schools Advertising Challenge. 

This is an exciting and fun competition for post-primary students to express their creative, digital and communication skills while learning about future career opportunities in the public sector. 

To enter, students are challenged to create a 30 second video advertisement pitching the public sector as an attractive career pathway to their fellow students. 

The winners of The Pitch for best video(s) will be in with a chance to win some fantastic prizes that showcase the diversity of career opportunities in the public sector.  

Student Prizes:  

• Test those newfound media skills by interviewing the Taoiseach Micheál Martin on his career so far!  

• Discover all-action lifesaving skills with a trip to an Irish Coast Guard Rescue Coordination Centre or Helicopter Base!  

• Experience behind-the-scenes action and take part in a policing simulation at An Garda Síochána! 

 The Pitch will finale with an awards ceremony in late Spring, showcasing shortlisted entries and announcing the final winners of these incredible prizes. 

There will be an expert panel of judges with representatives from across the public sector, as well as experts from the advertising industry to assess the competition entries.  

The Pitch is part of the Public Jobs Schools Resource Kit which is a deeper learning initiative. 

Part-funded under the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform’s Public Sector Innovation Fund, we launched the initiative last September alongside the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Michael McGrath TD. 

Both elements make up a brand-new programme for post-primary students that aims to spark interest in the wide variety of career opportunities that are available. 

The Pitch competition presents a real opportunity to demystify the civil and public service for teachers, students, and their parents. The Resource Kit, which can be found for free online at publicjobs.ie/schools is accessible to over 720 post-primary schools throughout Ireland, with all resources also available in Irish.
