Spotlight - The NEIC Trojans

Dublin City has its first inner city Basketball Club!

The NEIC Trojans was officially launched in Larkin Community College on Thursday.

The Trojans are working with children from 5 up to u/14s currently, and are looking to expand year on year. The Trojans club has been set up in collaboration with the NEIC Initiative, Trinity College, and sponsors AIG.

Speaking at the launch Michael Darragh Macauley, Dublin’s North East Inner city’s Sports and Wellness Co-ordinator said:

“The NEIC Trojans is a project that was started in 2018 through running basketball academies in the local area. Basketball is thriving now and it is long overdue that the North Inner City finally has its own club to be proud of. The North East Inner City is a melting pot of new communities from all over the world, and basketball is a game which has no boundaries in bringing these communities together. We look forward to seeing where this club grows to over the coming months and years”
