Funded by the NEIC Initiative and the Health Service Executive (HSE), RCSI are conducting a Community Health Needs Assessment. A Community Health Needs Assessment looks at the health of a community to identify needs, gaps in services, and opportunities to improve health and ensure health equity.
We would like to hear from anyone who lives in, works in, or has a connection to the NEIC area – whatever your background. We’re particularly keen to hear from a diverse range of community voices, including but not limited to:
long-term residents (5+ years) and historical/generational residents of the NEIC
people who have experienced homelessness
people affected by substance use or substance misuse
migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees (including beneficiaries of temporary protection)
people from minority ethnic backgrounds, including members of the Roma and Traveller communities
adults, older adults, young adults, and parents and guardians of children
members of the LGBTQI+ community
people with disabilities
people from diverse faiths
You may identify with more than one of these groups, and that’s very welcome.
What’s Involved?
Taking part is flexible, and you can choose whatever format suits you best:
focus group– a discussion with a small group of people
individual interview– one-on-one
individual walking interview– a one-on-one interview while walking around your local area
photovoice/digital storytelling– where you take photos/create a short video to share your story
You’ll be sharing your experiences and views on health in the NEIC. Participation is voluntary and confidential.
Who Can Take Part?
Community members who live in, work in, use services in, or have a connection to the NEIC, or their family carers.
Health, social care, and community sector professionals and service providers who work in or with the NEIC community.
This project is being done with and for the community, and NEIC voices are central at every stage.
