Dublin City North Children and Young People's Services Committee (CYPSC) and Tusla Prevention, Partnership, and Family Support (PPFS)

invite local services to an online information event on "Responding to Child to Parent Violence" ,

applying the Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) Programme in Dublin City North.

The event aims to increase participants knowledge and awareness of the Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) Programme as an approach to responding to Child to Parent Violence;

explore the impact of NVR on families; and review implementation of NVR in Dublin City North.

An overview of NVR in Ireland will be provided by Dr. Declan Coogan, (Lecturer in Social Work and Research Fellow, UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre at NUI Galway) who co-adapted the NVR Programme for an Irish context, and is currently Chairperson of NVR Ireland. For the local context, a parent will share their personal experience, and a local practitioner will share their experience of working with parents using NVR. Tusla PPFS will provide an overview of local implementation, and future plans for engagement and responding.

All services working with families in Dublin City North with an interest are welcome to register to attend.

In particular, we welcome local services /practitioners with an interest in applying for the upcoming 2 day NVR Facilitator training in October.
