In partnership with the NEIC Initiative, The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland are conducting a Community Health Needs Assessment. The aim is to understand the health needs of the North East Inner City (NEIC) community, identify gaps in services, and learn what matters most to people regarding their health. This project is being carried out by a multidisciplinary research team from the School of Population Health, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), and is led by Prof. Breda Smyth.
We are inviting local residents, community leaders and community groups and service providers to get involved. You will have a choice to join the Steering Committee to guide the project, or the Community Group which advises the research team and ensures the community’s voice remains at the heart of the work.
The aim is to include a diverse range of community member voices which will include, but are not limited to:
Long term residents of the NEIC
People who have experienced homelessness
people affected by addiction and/or in recovery
migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees (including Ukrainians)
members of the Roma and Traveller communities
older adults, young adults, parents and guardians of children
members of the LGBTQI+ community
people with disabilities
It is acknowledged that individuals may identify with more than one of these groups, which is welcomed.
