CONGRATULATIONS TO SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS FOR THE NEIC COMMUNITY GRANT SCHEME 2018

The Public Implementation Board has approved a total of €64,627 in NEIC Community Grants for 2018. The purpose of this allocation is to financially support North East Inner City communities in delivering their own eligible projects / proposals at local level. Following a review process, the Programme Implementation Board is delighted to announce that the applicants listed below have been successful.

  • Larkin Community College / Swimming classes for 5th & 6th year students running from Sept - Jan & Feb - May

  • Acts of Compassion (Ministries) - 4 new training seminars targeting people from ethnic communities on self-worth, Meaning of life, purpose of life & value of lives of those suffering with Depression

  • Mud Island Community Garden - Halloween Event, Christmas Fair, Plants & Seeds for Autumn/Winter & Educational Workshops

  • The Cavan Centre C.L.G. - Santa Experience for children & families of the NEIC running from 3rd - 14th December 2018

  • LYCS Crèche - Garden project for children at new premises at Hardwicke St

  • Sherriff Youth Club (under 16's) - Flights & Accommodation for 26 Children & 8 Adults to compete in a football Tournament in Barcelona

  • Charmed with Rhythm Dance Club - 20 Children from the NEIC to compete in the All Ireland Championship in Cork

  • Patrick Heeney Crescent Youth Club - To take 32 children & 10 adults to a Halloween Pumpkin Patch in Co Meath

  • Ballybough Community Group - To take 50 children & 17 adults to Halloween Pumpkin Farm

  • The Five Lamps Arts Festival - Singing Teacher for Xmas Event (with Youth Projects)

  • Killarney Court Sheltered Housing - 40 Senior Citizens to Wild Lights opening at Dublin Zoo

  • Portland Place & District Residents Association - Community clean-up and celebration/winter bedding programme

  • Lourdes Day Care Centre - Christmas Party at Wynn’s Hotel with recreational games for 60 seniors

  • Little Treasures Community Crèche - Christmas Experience - Santa train in Rathwood & exhibit of children's paintings/Christmas cards

  • Kiln/Forge Youth Group - Trip to see a Christmas Pantomime for children & families

  • O'Brien Hall Youth Group - Trip to the Cinema during half term for 25 children & 10 Adults

  • Corinthians Boxing Club - To participate in a boxing tournament in Waterford

  • Larkin Community College - Christmas tree and community event

  • Dorset Street Women’s Group - Volunteer local women set up women’s group education/social group open to all ages, sewing, flower arranging, mindfulness, meditation

  • 99th Dublin North Strand Sea Scout Group - Programme & equipment resources for Beavers & Cubs

  • Innovista Ireland - RISE Leadership Programme for 30 Transition Students at Mount Carmel Secondary School

  • Ballybough Brownies & GuidesIce Skating for 20 children & 4 adults

  • H.O.P.E - New laptop

  • A Playful City - A Playful Street (incl community consultation)

  • Fitzgibbon Court Youth Group - Christmas Party for families and senior citizens of the complex

  • Ballybough Youth Service, Crosscare - Dance Programme "flash dance" for 10-12 year olds and to perform at annual Christmas Party

  • Barbara Ward Clonliffe 7 Croke Park District Community Centre - 6 sets of bathroom taps and Burco Countertop autofill boiler

  • Streetline Project - To paint the house which is a home to 4 boys aged between 14 - 18

  • Larkin Unemployed Centre - Re-surfacing work on outdoor play area

  • Ozanam House Resource Centre - Parents Breakfast Club from Sept 18 - June 19

  • Friends of the Elderly - Movie club to launch Nov 2018

  • Hill Street Family Resource Centre - To celebrate 20 years by a photographic & written record of the history of Hill Street Family Resource Centre

  • International Youth Club - Weekly drop ins with provisions of food & trips to the ice rink, bowling & sports link for International & Irish Homeless living in B&B

  • Discovery Gospel Choir"Songs from Home" to recruit new members from diverse backgrounds to develop & rehearse a musical programme

  • LYCS Adult Education - Guitar lessons for long term unemployed, homeless and seniors

  • St Joseph's CBS - Annual Christmas party for the elderly of the NEIC

  • Seville Place Girl Guides - WAGGGS Team Girl Challenge - held over a weekend camp

  • The Oasis Centre - A Garden Project to create a Brighter Future

  • All Together in Dignity - ATD Fourth World Ireland - Corner Stones - used creatively to construct a permanent monument in the NECC garden

  • Project Fun Direction - Physical literacy programme for twenty five 5-10 years olds attending afterschools at Hill Street Family Resource Centre

  • Dublin Gospel Choir / Documenting the choir
