Attention ! Businesses & Community in the GPO and O’ Connell Street Lower & Upper area Easter Sunday 17th April 2022 at 12 noon

The Annual Commemoration Ceremony to mark the 106th  anniversary of the 1916 Rising will be held outside the GPO on

Easter Sunday 17th April 2022 at 12 noon

The ceremony will be similar to that held in 2019 with the commemoration party arriving at 11.40am to the GPO.

The Army Band recital begins at 11.00am.

The ceremony will start at 12 noon and will finish at 12.45pm.

Those wishing to attend the event should be in position by 11.00am.

In order to facilitate this event, temporary road closures will be in place as follows:

O'connell Street Lower and Upper will close at 5am on Sunday morning and reopen at 3pm.

Dublin Bus & City Tours Diversions for Easter Sunday

Northbound Routes at O’Connell Bridge: from first bus until 1500hrs.

Normal route to O’Connell Bridge then divert right to Eden Quay, Beresford Place, Gardiner Street, left onto Parnell Street and continue to normal route.

Southbound Routes at O’Connell Street: from first bus until 1500hrs.

Normal route onto O’Connell Street then divert left to Cathal Brugha Street right to Marlborough Street, Rosie Hackett Bridge, Burgh Quay to D’Olier Street and normal route.

{Routes 4 & 7 southbound will use their O’Connell St. Stop for pick up & set down as usual. All other routes will use the first stop on Cathal Brugha Street as set down only due to limited space. Customers wishing to board services other than 4 & 7 southbound at O’Connell Street should be advised to board at Parnell Square East or D’Olier Street}

Route 123:

Northbound from first bus until 1500hrs.

Normal route to O’Connell Bridge then right onto Eden Quay, Beresford Place, Gardiner Street left onto Sean McDermott Street right onto Cumberland Street right onto Parnell Street and normal route.

Southbound from first bus until 1500hrs.

Normal route to Sean McDermott Street then divert left to Marlborough Street, Rosie Hackett Bridge, Burgh Quay to D’Olier Street and normal route.
