Swellfest 2026

SWELLFEST returns to Mountjoy Square Park, Dublin 1 for a Celebration of Sports, Community & Wellness | Saturday 3rd October | 12pm – 6pm

The North East Inner City (NEIC) Initiative and Dublin City Council are delighted to announce the return of SwellFest to Mountjoy Square, Dublin 1 on 3rd October from 12pm to 6pm. This free family festival encourages people of all ages and abilities to get involved in a huge range of sports activities, wellness talks, and demos.

Attendees will have the unique opportunity to sit in on live conversations with World Cup star Roberto “Pico” Lopez, alongside popular local podcasters Terence Power and Calvin O'Brien. Adding to the lineup, Bohemians Football Club will be hosting a special takeover featuring interactive sessions and special appearances from the club throughout the day.

Attendees can expect a diverse lineup of activities throughout the day, including:

• Showcases and demos from local boxing clubs, wrestlers, and martial arts experts.

• Opportunities to try out Badminton, Volleyball, and GAA Handball.

• An on-site Climbing Wall with fully trained instructors.

• Workshops and classes on park workouts delivered by local coaches.

• Little Fitness Health and Wellness Classes for younger sports fans.

• Opportunities improve your football skills at the football zone.

• Dance fitness sessions including Zumba and even a Baby Rave.

• A host of wellness and health-based talks, alongside a wide array of other community engagement pieces designed for the entire family including cooking demonstrations, community bingo, and a sensory zone

Speaking at the launch of the event, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Daryl Barron said

This fantastic event is a wonderful opportunity for people to come together, embrace a healthy and active lifestyle, and discover new passions. I am delighted to welcome all Dubliners and visitors to join us for what promises to be an exciting and enjoyable day for the whole family.”
