Congratulations to all 30 graduates from the Career LEAP Programme

Congratulations to all 30 graduates from the Career LEAP programme in 2019 and the 44 mentors from the local business community who also received their certificates following completion of their training. The graduation ceremony which was attended by Minister Paschal Donohoe, Michael Stone, NEIC Chairperson, Prof. Paula Murphy, Registrar Trinity College Dublin, and Mr Blake Hodkinson, Director of Further Education CDETB. and took place in the Convention Centre Dublin on 3rd February 2020.

Career LEAP is an evidence based work-readiness training programme which was specifically designed to support young unemployed adults in the north east inner city transition to employment, further education and training. The programme was developed by Professor Carmel O’Sullivan of the school of Education, Trinity College, Prof. Jennifer Symonds, UCD and Prof. Jos Akkermans, VU Amsterdam.

Career LEAP adopts a creative and active approach which increases the participants’ engagement during training modules and the involvement of business people directly in the training gives a real life perspective on the work environment and prepares participants for work placement.

64% of the 2019 participants are in fulltime employment or fulltime education, with 23% in part time employment.
